The main wealth of the Internet is the universality of the contents and the possibility, the data to anyone, of access and use wherever they are found at any time of the day.
Starting from this assumption, the Municipality of Savona tried to consult a site which, connected with a personal technical / graphic connotation, respects the most possible criteria of accessibility and usability such as to guarantee the greatest number of users a simple, understandable and facilitated consultation of the pages.
The work carried out on the design, the code, the structure and the content of the portal aimed at the result of an aesthetically engaging site, quick to consult, updated and developed over time.
VISITSAVONA was designed and built following the WCAG 2.0 guidelines provided by the W3C WAI international standard, in line with the WCAG 2.0 - level AA accessibility requirements.
In addition, the control points of the Technical Verification defined by the Law of 9 January 2004 n ° 4 "Provisions to facilitate the access of disabled people to IT tools" and from its recent update of the Ministerial Decree of 20 March 2013 have been implemented and applied "Annex A.
Technical rules governing access to teaching and training tools for disabled pupils ".
The principles that guided the realization of the portal were defined both on the basis of what is indicated in the WAI W3C guidelines, among the main ones:
- Only the technologies specified in the W3C guidelines have been used
- For each audio visual content, content has been provided which, once presented to the user, performs essentially the same function or achieves the same purpose as the original content.
- We did not rely solely on colors, in this way the text and graphics are understandable even if consulted without color.
- Markers and style sheets were used appropriately
- The layout has been designed and guarantees independence from the various devices (connected to responsive mode)
- Clear and consistent navigation mechanisms have been designed and provided in order to increase the probability that a person will find what he is looking for on the portal
- Sono state inseriteTables equipped with the right markers have been inserted so that browsers and various user agents can transform them according to need.
All the pages of the site have passed the HTML5 validation carried out with the W3C Validator.
As regards the semantics, a manual check of all the main pages and of the various templates used was carried out.
The site was also designed following the W3C standards about CSS3 and HTML5 making it cross-browser and responsive to the resolutions of the various mobile devices.
Supported Browsers
For the reference browsers, the main ones used by the market were taken into account, namely Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer and, as regards mobile devices with the Android and iOS operating systems.
