In the Ceramics Bay —the extraordinary cultural hub that unites Albissola Marina, Albisola Superiore, Celle Ligure, Savona, and its hinterland—the clayey earth and the sea have intertwined for centuries, creating a unique artistic heritage. .
Today this thousand-year-old tradition takes a fundamental step towards increasingly accessible and aware tourism : the "Ceramicabili Senza Barriere" initiative is born .
These are not just simple calendar events, but real immersive experiences designed to demonstrate how art, creativity and the discovery of the territory must be a right accessible to everyone, without physical, sensorial or cultural barriers. A journey where clay manipulation and decoration become universal languages of expression and sharing.
An integrated project for accessible tourism and local development
Inserted in the framework of "Travel Without Barriers" - a project realized thanks to the fundamental contribution of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Minister for Disabilities - the initiative sees the synergic collaboration between local institutions, the third sector and museum centers of excellence .
The objective is to guarantee universal accessibility to cultural heritage by transforming art workshops and museum itineraries into fully inclusive spaces designed to welcome people with motor, sensory, or intellectual-relational disabilities. Through tactile, hands-on, and visual experiences managed with multidisciplinary approaches, ceramic art becomes a powerful tool for socio-cultural integration and democratic participation in beauty. This virtuous 'tourism for all' network aims to ensure a completely autonomous and safe stay for every visitor and their families, completely free of barriers.
The Experience Calendar: Autumn workshops and guided walks
From October to November, four Sunday stops will allow you to explore the historic villages and try your hand at ceramic decoration guided by master craftsmen and experts in the sector. :
