The program of events for the reopening of San Giacomo
The three-day event dedicated to the rebirth of the San Giacomo Complex combines culture, local development, and national media promotion.
Friday, October 9: The Preview and Special Episode of Sky Classica
The celebrations kick off on Friday, October 9th at 11:30 am with an exclusive preview reserved for local authorities and cultural associations.
During the event, the hosts of the popular Sky Classica show “Almanacco di Bellezza,” Piero Maranghi and Leonardo Piccinini, will present a special episode entirely dedicated to Savona and the history of San Giacomo.
The Sky crew's television footage will include some of the city's most iconic locations—including the Priamar Fortress , Palazzo della Rovere , and the Leon Pancaldo Promenade —to create a fascinating visual narrative. The episode will then air on Sky Classica (Sky channel 121) and IlSole24OreTV , thanks to the support of Ponte Ter Spa and Saar DP Green Spa.

Mayor Marco Russo's words: "A step towards making Savona the Capital of Culture."
The reopening of the former convent marks a milestone in the city administration's strategic and cultural strategy.
" It's a great feeling," says Marco Russo, mayor of Savona. "After a long and complex process that also brought to light unexpected beauty, the San Giacomo complex is once again part of the city's heritage. It's another very valuable piece of the Savona 2027 mosaic, developed over the years and included in the candidacy project for Italian Capital of Culture. From today, the San Giacomo, and soon also the Palazzo della Rovere, will accompany Savona on its new cultural journey."
