In Michela Marzano's latest book (philosopher, essayist, writer, and Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Paris Descartes), a need emerges that silently runs through the lives of many young women and men today: the need to be truly seen, recognized for who they are and not for what others expect of them. When that need goes unmet, it often takes the form of suffering—withdrawal, anxiety, a silent war with one's body—that families, schools, and even medical specialists struggle to understand.
