Events in Savona this weekend from September 18th to 20th

A weekend full of cultural, music and sports events for the whole family!

From 18 to 26 September, Savona welcomes back CONNEXXION, the contemporary art festival curated by Livia Savorelli, now in its fourth edition and dedicated this year to the theme “Elegy of Fragility”. A journey through art, participation and digital culture involving several locations across the city.

Until September 30, at the Cellette of the Priamar Fortress, the exhibition “Cvbiqua in Ceramiqa”, curated by Quiarte.

Friday, 18 September

From 9.00 am – City Centre – Sport Up Savona 2026
Three days dedicated to accessible, inclusive and open-to-all sports, featuring free trials, performances, shows and activities for all ages. The city will host areas dedicated to team and individual sports, dance and fitness, traditional games, activities for children and wellness spaces. At 6.00 pm, the Sports Parade will set off from Piazza Sisto IV.

6.00 pm – Civic Art Gallery – CONNEXXION
Official opening of the Festival with Clarissa Falco’s performance Ceramoprosthesis, followed by the presentation of CONNEXXION 2026, a visit to the works by Matteo Mandelli and Martina Fontana, and Matteo Mandelli’s performance The Contact.

Saturday, 19 September

From 9.00 am – City Centre – Sport Up Savona 2026
Three days dedicated to accessible, inclusive and open-to-all sports, with free trials, performances, shows and activities for all ages. The city will host areas dedicated to team and individual sports, dance and fitness, traditional games, activities for children and wellness spaces.

10.00 am – Conference Room, Civic Art Gallery – CONNEXXION
A talk by Simone Sensi, with artists Max Magaldi and Matteo Mandelli: “The Right to Be Forgotten. The Fragility of What Remains”.

3.00 pm – Piazza Leon Pancaldo – Urban Trekking
Organised by the Associazione Guide Turistiche Liguria: “Among Flowers and Wrought Iron in the Villetta District”. Duration: approximately 2 hours.

3.30 pm – Priamar Fortress – Guided Tour “The Underground Tunnels of Priamar”
A guided tour of the underground galleries of the Priamar Fortress, organised by the Civic Archaeological Museum.

5.00 pm – Ex Sant’Agostino Prison – CONNEXXION
Opening of the Ex Sant’Agostino Prison and a visit to the Festival installations, which will remain open until 26 September.

9.00 pm – Church of Sant’Andrea – Duo Agosti–Sammicheli Concert
Organised by the Ensemble Nuove Musiche in collaboration with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Alta Formazione, a concert by the Duo Agosti–Sammicheli featuring works by A. Mariani, G. Martucci, A. Gavazzeni and J. Brahms.

Sunday, 20 September

10.30 am – Ex Sant’Agostino Prison – CONNEXXION
Organised by the FAI Young Group of Savona, a narrated tour entitled “Changing Walls – A Journey through the Ex Sant’Agostino Prison”. Free admission upon reservation: savona@delegazionefai.fondoambiente.it

3.00 pm – Pertini Monument, Piazza Pertini – Urban Trekking
Organised by the Associazione Guide Turistiche Liguria: “Pertini and Savona: Follow the Idea, Not the Men!”. Duration: approximately 3 hours.
